This recall involves the Organique Nourishing Night Cream by Himalaya USA. The product is sold in a 100 millilitre (3.38 oz) pump cylinder that is teal in colour with an orange cap. The product can be identified by the UPC 605069200196 or the following batch numbers: S691001 or S691002 located on the bottom of the bottle.
The bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and fungus were found present in samples of Nourishing Night Cream batch #S691001. These microbes may cause infection in those with a weakened immune system or if introduced to broken skin. The source of the contamination was traced to the bottle’s pump components.
Himalaya USA has voluntarily expanded the recall to batch #S691002, as it may pose a similar risk. Health Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this product.
