Not too long ago Palmer's launched a skincare line in the UK, as I'm rather partial to a bit of Cocoa Butter I was more than happy to give it a go
Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Night Renewal Cream is described as:
'A deep penetrating anti-aging skin treatment, is loaded with beneficial targeted ingredients: Cocoa and Shea butters to moisturize, Retinol to encourage skin renewal, Peptides to support skin's structure, and Evening Primrose to sooth stressed skin.'
The idea is that these ingredients penetrate the skin over time and give visible rejuvenated results.
Palmer's Night Renewal Cream has a quite light musky fragrance - it is reminiscent of the cocoa butter range but is nothing that will keep 'wafting' at you when applied to your face.
The cream itself is quite different to most face creams, the only way I can think to describe it is that it's a bit 'gluey' looking rather than creamy.
Because the cream was quite glossy looking, and it was a night cream I will admit that my immediate thought was 'uh oh, greasy face'.
I couldn't have been more wrong, it sank in super quick and actually left my skin initially feeling a bit tight and mask like - but not in an uncomfortable way, odd. Plus when I woke up in the morning my skin was lovely and soft.
My skin has been giving me the run around lately - when it was really cold my skin was super dehydrated, to the point that when I put foundation on, within a couple of hours my skin had absorbed it.
During this time Palmer's Night Renewal Cream was ok on my skin, not incredible, but ok.
I later tried it out when my skin was behaving itself and there was a huge difference my skin seemed to like the product much more and it appeared healthier looking, and some of my fine lines were less pronounced.
Personally I think for my skin this is more of a spring/autumn moisturiser (I have to change skincare every season) - it's a bit too light for when my skin acts crazy in the cold weather but I think it'll be a tad too heavy when it's really hot - I do think that it would be great on skin that is a bit dry all year round.
Palmer's Night Renewal Cream is priced around £6.95 and can be found online or at Superdrug on the high street.
Love,
Claire x.
