What is it that you look for when finding the right skincare? Are you most concerned with the price, the amount of products you will have to use or finding the skincare that matches your individual needs? Any of the previous concerns would be considered reasonable things to desire in your skincare line. Unfortunately, finding products that fit all the demanding needs of our face can be challenging.
As most of us know, Cindy Crawford has a skincare line called Meaningful Beauty. I was recently given the opportunity to sample the Meaningful Beauty line that included 5 full sized products and 2 sample products. You can read my initial thoughts in my first post that was written before I began the skincare regimen.
It has now been four weeks since I started to use the Meaningful Beauty products on my skin, so I wanted to share my thoughts on how they worked for me.
SKIN SOFTENING CLEANSER
The cleanser that comes in the starter kit is 2.0 fl oz. It is a creamy consistency and therefore completely non-foaming. The Skin Softening Cleanser can be applied to either a wet or dry face, though I preferred to use it on wet skin.
For the first few days that I used this product, I noticed that my skin became a little drier. I find that with most skin products I try, my skin needs about a week to adjust. After the initial start of the skincare line, my skin began to even out and the dryness faded.
The one thing that did not change for me over the course of the four weeks was a slight burning sensation on my skin. In all fairness, I do have sensitive skin and therefore often find products irritate it. There was no noticeable redness, just a minor tingle for about 30 seconds after use.
Creme de Serum
The kit that I received had Cindy’s product Creme de Serum. In my first post, I mentioned that it was the product I was most interested in trying. I am a sucker for products that are different or look unique.
I used a couple pumps of the product each morning after I was finished cleansing my face. This particular product is designed to fight the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. At this stage in my life, that is very important to me when looking for products to use daily.
The Creme de Serum absorbed nicely into the skin and didn’t leave me feeling oily. However, it turned out surprisingly enough to be my least favorite of the five products I tried. I guess for me it seemed like an extra step in the routine without any visible results.
LIFT & FIRM EYE CREAM
Any woman who is 40+ will probably tell you that eye cream is essential in helping to hide aging eyes. When my eyes are dry underneath, my makeup doesn’t go on as smoothly and fine lines and wrinkles are amplified.
The Meaningful Beauty Lift & Firm Eye Cream did a very nice job of absorbing into the delicate eye area. It was smooth and moisturizing without being greasy. If you have ever tried an eye cream that did not absorb into the skin, then you know the importance of finding one that does. There is nothing more frustrating than applying eye makeup and having your eye cream ball up beneath your eye.
SKIN BRIGHTENING DECOLLETE AND NECK TREATMENT SPF15
This product was the one that I enjoyed the most out of the five I tried. I can honestly say that before trying this skincare regimen, I rarely used any product on my neckline. I believe that is one of the biggest mistakes I make in my daily routine.
Think about older women that you see. I have seen some that have such youthful looking faces, but their neck and chest area give away their age. It is just as important to take care of your chest and neck area to maintain a younger appearance. I will definitely continue to use products on these areas daily.
I was really pleased that this particular product uses SPF15 to protect the skin from harmful rays. It feels very nice when applying it to the skin and left me feeling soft and supple.
Because I live in Colorado where it is very dry, moisture is very important to my skin. Sun protection is also very important since we have more sunny days in our state than most.
I appreciate that the Day Creme had SPF20 that protects my skin from both UVB/UVA rays. The creme was not heavy and I was able to apply makeup directly after without feeling greasy. The cremes in this skincare line in general were very nice and all absorbed well into my face, neck and chest area.
My experience with the Meaningful Beauty line overall went fairly well. One thing that I felt was missing from an Anti-Aging face kit, was a night cream. While you are sleeping is the perfect time to allow your skin to heal and repair itself. I was very surprised to find this was not included as part of the skincare line.
I visited the Meaningful Beauty website after receiving the kit and they do offer a night cream that could be purchased separately. I think it would be a great addition to the kit if they would include it. Since I needed the additional moisture, I did begin to use a separate night cream after a couple of weeks.
Four weeks after using the product, I wouldn’t say I am any closer to looking like a younger version of myself. Of course by using a product for 30 days, that would be asking a lot. While I wouldn’t say that these are products I would continue to use for my personal skin type, they did have a few products that worked well for me.
Be sure to read others reviews on the Meaningful Beauty line before deciding what is best for you. Skincare is an extremely personal choice and what works well for one may not work well for another.
Meaningful Beauty also offers a 60 day money back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied with the products.
Pros: The entire skincare line took less than 5 minutes to complete, SPF protection, absorbs nicely
Cons: The kit did not come with a night cream as part of the package (though I do believe they now have some that do), the cleanser did not work well on my sensitive skin, did not work well during times of breakout, results after 4 weeks were minimal.
I wrote this review while participating in a test drive campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf Meaningful Beauty and received a 5-step treatment kit to facilitate my review, a second 5-step treatment kit to giveaway, and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
