I’ve been using this night cream for a while now and I feel ready to write a review about it. In fact, this is my very first “anti-aging” cream and even though I haven’t started getting any wrinkles yet I feel like it’s about time to start preventing. This product has lots of ingredients that is supposed to be good for you; AHAs (glycolic and lactic acids), antioxidants (vitamin c and beta carotene), primrose oil ++. It is also free of any parabens, phthalate and sulfate.
The Pure Perfection cream is made for dry skin but I wouldn’t say it is too heavy, it sinks in pretty quickly. It is definitely a night cream, after a few hours my skin appear a little “oilier”, but when I wake up in the morning my skin is soft, smooth and radiant. This cream might be a little bit too heavy for me in summer season, we’ll wait and see.
I apply a small amount and gently massage it into my face, you can feel the tingle of glycolic acid, but that goes away pretty quickly. You only need a really small amount to cover your entire face, it can turn a little greasy if you use too much. At first, I was a bit afraid of the glycolic acid being a little bit harsh for my sensitive skin but it has never irritated my skin or caused any redness (or breakouts). However, I cannot apply it too close to my eyes as it can make them tear up. As long as I apply only a thin layer on the rest of my face my eyes are fine. I’ve read reviews where people complain about the smell, but it doesn’t bother me too much. At first, it is a pretty strong scent but I’d say it fades away pretty quickly. I’m not a huge fan of the jar as I really don’t think it’s sanitary, but I’m careful to wash my hands well before touching the cream, so it should not spread any germs.
Overall I really like this product and I feel like it really is helping to smooth my skin and reduce any fine lines I might have. :)
Do you have any products from the Ole Henriksen line?
